The first thing a person needs to be successful at building their personal wealth is motivation. It is THE key factor in creating success. In fact, anything that anyone ever achieves, it is because they were motivated to do so. That’s a no-brainer. The hard part is finding it.
I would say that there are two key causes. If both these causes were obtained, I believe the will to do something would come naturally.
One key cause is verbal and communal support. We can see this most demonstrated in the life of a sports team. Working together to achieve the same goal in communal support gives the team a desire to achieve, and the verbal support of the coach gives the added real-time kick.
Can the coaches words seem negative? Certainly! But–don’t let “negative” words keep you back. Learn from them and do better. And remember “no” is not a commentary on you as a person. It is a helpful guide to get you going in the direction where you will find the most benefit.
For instance, you want something and someone says, “No!” don’t beat yourself up about it. Go where the people are who are saying “Yes!” And give them a reason to say “Yes!”
And to be honest, most of the time negative words are a commentary on the person speaking them. Therefore, you need to consider where they are coming from. Are they coming from someone who cares about you and whom you trust? Or are they coming from someone who just doesn’t like anybody?
Sometimes they may even come from someone who want you to fall. Don’t give them the victory!
I’ll be honest, though, words do not get me going as much as seeing potential benefit. For example, if I was on a loosing team, and we never even came close to winning a single event–and knew for sure it was not going to happen–I would not be motivated. It does not matter how much the coach says.
However, if I see that success is obtainable, I will have what I need to strive and reach the goal set before me. If I can see that there is a definite benefit if I keep going, I will keep going. I will be motivated!
The good news is: even though we are in a bad economy, there are still things out there to be excited about. There still are opportunities for financial gain. You CAN have success. And empty rhetoric will not do it. You need to have real, substantial, and obtainable goals.
And let met add this, if you want financial freedom, motivation is the first thing you need to have.
